Job Summary

In order to become the best in our target markets by making our customers stronger, we are actively recruiting a Revenue Recognition Analyst to join our Finance Team based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews license contracts to determine proper revenue recognition treatment in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principals and compile various metrics on license contracts.
  • Interact with sales personnel and legal department to find contract wording that avoids revenue recognition issues.
  • Provide revenue forecasting, reporting, and analysis for executive management and external (shareholder and SEC) reporting.
  • Provide support and training to sales personnel to help them understand their contracting activity and revenue results.
  • Coordinate with sales support staff and delivery to insure that all contracts have been shipped processed and accounted for.
  • Review data that is being processed through the system, and prepare various schedules and reconciliations as part of the monthly close process to ensure 100% accuracy of the financial statements.
  • Prepare detailed daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual contracting activity and product revenue reports.
  • Act as a general resource for Lawson's sales, legal, incentive accounting, accounts receivable, and order processing departments on accounting matters, especially as it relates to contracting activity, invoicing, and timing of revenue recognition.
  • Provide schedules and various analyses as part of the external audit.

Experience:

Qualifications

  • 4 year degree in accounting/business/finance or relevant experience
  • 3 to 8 years experience in accounting and reporting in a medium to large company
  • Ability to understand complex business contract negotiations and make solid recommendations that meet the customer’s objectives and protect revenue recognition
  • Ability to explain complex revenue recognition issues to different audiences
  • Good systems skills/accounting software package proficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to apply US GAAP to specific business situations
  • CPA or MBA
  • 3+ years experience in an audit function for a public accounting firm
  • Experience with contract review and interpretation
  • amiliarity with US GAAP as it applies to the Software Industry (SOP 97-2, SAB 104)
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written in English and ideally French.
